Our local vet recommended we find an eye specialist for the splinter our dog had in his eye. I was given the number of this practice by my vet. He told me to come straight away so I drove the 35 minutes to Estepona. He saw us straight away and operated on him within 20 mins of us arriving. We were called once he had woken up from the anesthesia. Excellent service and fair price for the situation we were in. Very happy with the whole experience. Buster now fully fit

Mixed feeling about this clinic. On the one hand, we met a very kind and compassionate vet who clearly has the best intentions for animals. On the other hand, we unfortunately had a deeply upsetting experience with long-lasting consequences for our precious dog. Our dog had developed back problems after an accident the year before and was on daily medication. During multiple visits, the vet recommended switching to a monthly injection, librela. We weren’t fully comfortable with the idea, but after insistence from the vet, we decided to give it a try. The vet also gave here different other medications. Looking back, that decision turned out to be disastrous. Within a few weeks, our dog began to slow down during our daily walks. At times, she would seem to just "shut off." She lost her appetite, had severe diarrhea, and even collapsed during a walk. My husband had to carry her home. We were terrified we might lose her and rushed to the vet. Blood tests and an ultrasound revealed she was suffering from acute kidney failure. Thankfully, after a few days of dialysis, she began to recover. At home, we started reading up on this Librela injection and found many similar stories online. It was heartbreaking to realize this would have been preventable. On top of that, the vet diagnosed her with a slow thyroid and prescribed lifelong medication. After relocating abroad, our new vet discovered that she doesn’t have a thyroid issue at all. Additionally, this vet other explained that the medication she had been given for her back was extremely strong, something they would only use as a last resort (!!). And that there are a lot of stories like ours, but that Librela is really good with their marketing. We decided to stop all medication and closely monitor her behavior and bloodwork. To our relief, she’s doing well without any of the heavy drugs. That said, the damage to her kidneys appears to be lasting. Even now, a year later, we’re giving her special food and supplements to support her kidneys, we still have to continue to monitor her SDMA and other markers very carefully as they’re still not stable. Sadly, we’ve also noticed she’s become hard of hearing and seems to have lost parts of her long-term memory. She doesn’t respond to commands she once knew very well or recognize games we used to play with her. It’s as if she suffered some kind of stroke during that awful period. We’re incredibly grateful she’s still with us and hope to have many more years together. But it’s still painful to see how much she has declined since that injection. We’re sharing this story to raise awareness about potential risks and to encourage others to trust their instincts, especially when something doesn’t feel right, even if a professional suggests otherwise. And I really hope that the clinic learns from this.

Poco profesionales. Pusieron el chip del perrito mal la primera vez. Se veía una parte desde fuera. Volvió a ir, se lo quitaron y se supone que volvieron a ponerlo. En otro veterinario revisaron y no había chip.
